Dr Ozmen and the team at Sydney GI Surgery are invested in the health needs and lifestyle priorities of our patients. We believe in building a professional and supportive relationship with our patients through a compassionate and comprehensive care approach. Dr Ozmen also follows a holisitic care approach and collaborates with other specialist health providers to combine expertise to further ensure better outcomes are achieved for our patients.
Dr Ozmen graduated from UNSW in 2001 with his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, and Bachelor of Science (Medicine) with first class honours and was awarded fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in 2011.
He then continued on with a two year upper GI and Bariatric fellowship at St Vincents and St George Hospital, recognised in Australia as a centre of bariatric excellence. He then continued his bariatric and metabolic surgical training at two bariatric centres of excellence – the first at St George Private Hospital and then at AZ Sint-Jan Hospital in Bruges Belgium where he trained under Dr Bruno Dillemans; a recognised world expert in bariatric surgery.
Dr Ozmen is committed to the continuing support of his patients through providing professional advice and services and advanced surgical treatments. His passion for continuous learning through the development of new academic research has positioned him at the forefront of surgical developments, particularly in the field of hernia surgery.
